Wedding Stories
Samantha and Zach - An Island Love Story
Aaaaah, Prince Edward Island in the summer. Such an incredible place, and a place we’re so proud to call home.
When this couple contacted us - residents of Antigonish, Nova Scotia (where Dave largely grew up) - and said they wanted a small, intimate, and special Island wedding, we were excited and honoured that they chose us to capture their beautiful day.
Held at the unique, rustic, and stunning New London Carriage House (basically 10 minutes from home for us), they couldn’t have been gifted a more perfect day. Not too hot, beautiful light, and a peaceful vibe throughout the perfect day.
Juliette + Jamieson, A Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Wedding.
For the past half-dozen years or so, my daughter, Lily, has been both inspired, energized, and fallen in love with dance. Irish step dance, to be specific. A massive part of her love has been the inspiration and guidance provided by her energetic and incredibly talented teacher, Juliette Roberts…owner of one of Prince Edward Island’s biggest dance studios, Robert’s Academy of Dance (RAD!)
I’ve photographed various dance events for Juliette over the years and was beyond honoured when she asked me if I would capture the story of her big day - her union to the dapper, funny, and kind Jamieson Paziuk. Um, hell yes. Read/see more from this wedding here!
Kara + Kurtis - A Hay River, Northwest Territories Wedding.
I lived and worked in the Northwest Territories for over a decade. “The north” is a place very special to me, so when I had an inquiry about shooting a summer wedding in the beautiful community of Hay River, I jumped at the chance.
A little visual story of two beautiful people getting married in a heart-felt ceremony in beautiful Cape Breton. From the start of the day to the end, this one was all heart, and it’s evident in the smiles of this fantastic couple.
Check out more from their day.
A pandemic wedding isn’t your normal wedding. It means sacrifices had to take place, measures put into place, guest lists slashed, and - perhaps more importantly - the two people getting married would have to take on a great deal of patience, “go-with-the-flow”, and a sense of humour about everything that’s happening. What else can you do?
It was one of the most heartfelt, beautiful days I've gotten to witness as a photographer, and I was honoured to be a part of it. During the speeches (and there wasn't a dry eye, I think, in the place) there was reference to "being true to yourself is one of the most important things you can do as a human". Sithara and Jenn - you're an inspiration. To me...and to many. Thank you for bring your true selves - you're two of the most beautiful people I know.
